Answer #1

Acetone and NaOH React according to two methods

1. reaction of OH- with acetone

2. Cannizarro reaction

Both the reaction lead to the formation of Bases which extract proton and elimination occurs.

The base formed by first reaction is an enolate ion which is a weak base and hence favours E1 mechanism

while cannizaro reaction yeilds strong base (which is more hindered) and hence the latter favors E2 mechanism.

find the attachment for step by step info and at last by checking stability of formed alkene we can find the predominate or major alkene.First By Pato possibility, on + Cha-C- cha cha co cha Ch2= c (Che)- é (enolare ion) so the + proton H2O extracting species infor mond possibility, Parhan Reaction on & Cha-cha Chalooh tch₂.-(-C43 The Amering species is (A) this. This is a hindered StNow, for (II) The three membered Ring [2,7,5] has a double-bond which couses a very high angle Strain and hence (I) is unstabtthe second image says " reacting species is A"
