(b - a) = (18.8 +/- 3.1) - (44.3 +/- 1.2)

(b - a) = (18.8 - 44.3) +/- (3.1 + 1.2)

(b - a) = -25.5 +/- 4.3

(b - a) / c = (-25.5 +/- 4.3) / (42.8 +/- 2.2)

absolute error = (25.5 / 42.8) * [(4.3 / 25.5) + (2.2 / 42.8)]

absolute error = (0.596) * (0.220)
