Graft vs host disease is a condition which occurs after the allogeneic transplantation. Where by the donars stem cells attack the recipients body as the recipients body does not accept the change and thinks it as a foreign body.

The types of graft rejection are:

1. Hyperacute rejection were it occurs immediately within few minutes after transplantation  

2. Acute rejection takes from few weeks to 3montgs

3. Chronic rejection to occur takes many years.

The causes of graft rejection are as follws:

1) rejection due to nonadherence occurs in adolescent recipients wereby with the regimens of immunosuppresants.

2) rejection detection observed by the lab tests for the hostopathological signs and symptoms.

The impact of transplantation and rejection for the client

The rejection is been caused by the immune system whereby it reacts to the transplant as it is a foreign body and starts destroying it.

The long term survival can be maintained by altering the immune system.
