This is how to set up --> (30 U/ 500 mL) * (1000 mU/ 1U) * ( 10mL/ 1hr) * ( 1hr/ 60min)

The 500 ml IV is diluted with 30 unit of the drug.

hence the 1 ml has 0.06 unit ( 30 / 500 = 0.06)

Here the 1 hr the flow is 10 ml, it means 0.6 units per hour.

Hence for 1 hour the flow is 0,6 units, then for 1 minutes it would be 0.01 units.

Therefore the client is receiving 0,01 units per minute,, If we convert the unit into mu it would be 0.00001 mu

Therefore the answer is 0.00001 mu / mins.

None of your answers are correct . The answer rounds to whole number 13 mu/min. Dimensional analysis . Pretty simple . Follow mu/min which is what the question is asking for . So now you will let that guide you . In the end the mu will be the numerator and min the denominator. Now the set up : 10ml/1hrX40units/500mlX1Hr/60minX1000mu/1unit. In this problem our answer needs to end in mu/min. We have 40 units which should be converted into mu which is the rationale for multiplying 1000mu/1unit. We also have 1hr which should be converted into minutes which is the rationale for multiplying 1hr/60min. Now we multiply across .. 10x40x1000x1=400,000 then multiply 1x500x1x60=30,000. Now divide . 400,000/30,000=13.333”” . You round to whole number 13 because it’s not possible to set up the pump with a decimal remainder. Your answer will be 13mu/min.

The correct answer is 10 mu/min. The first answer has the incorrect decimals placed. The second answer is completely off.
