  • Variable cost per unit = ($550000 total cost - $ 400000 fixed cost) / 40000 units produced
    = 150000 / 40000
    = $ 3.75 per unit
  • Fixed cost = $ 400000
  • Total cost if volume increases to 64000 units

    = 240000 + 400000
