Answer #1

given
volume of Ca(OH)2 = 250 ml = 0.25 l
molarity = 0.5 M
moles of Ca(OH)2 present = volume *molarity = 0.25 L*0.5 M
=0.125 mols
In water Ca(OH)2 will ionize completely
Ca(OH)2 --> Ca2+ +2OH-
1 mole salt give 2 mole OH- ions
So 0.125 mol Ca(OH)2 produce 2*0.125 mole OH-
=0.25 mols OH-

1 mole OH- contain avogadro number of ions
hence
0.25 mol OH- contain = 0.25 x6.022 x10^23 OH- ions = 1.5055 x10^23 OH- ions

Answer :: 1.5055 x10^23 OH- ions

balance molecular equation:
Mg(OH)2 (aq) + 2HCL (aq) --> MgCl2(aq) + 2H2O(l)

complete ionic equation::
Mg2+ (aq) + 2OH-(aq) + 2H+(aq) +2Cl-(aq) -->Mg2+ (aq) +2Cl-(aq) +2H2O(l)

there are common ions present[spectator ions]= Mg2+ and Cl- , cancel them to get

Net ionic equation

2H+(aq) +2OH-aq) --> 2H2O(l)

It is an acid-base reaction [neutralization reaction]
