Alternative care clinical data become essential tools for promoting the research throughout product development activities such as clinical trials and research studies because clinical data represent the resource in healthcare development.

Alternative therapies are based on consistent ideology, therapy of illness, or treatment and derive from a variety of sources such as; ethnic and folk traditions, mainstream medical practices, established religions or semi-religious cults, philosophies or metaphysical movements, and health-and-wellness groups. Alternative systems of medical practice are the use of medicine from other traditions e.g., Ayurveda, Yoga, Shidha, Herbal.

The health care professionals must first be aware about conventional and alternative clinical practices as follows:

(1) To what extent are clinicians aware of findings from prominent trials?

(2) Do clinicians feel prepared to interpret research results?

(3) How highly do clinician audiences for value research evidence relative to other factors in clinical decision making?

The healthcare interventions that would be considered alternative medical care essential for appropriate management for the easy survival of life;

THREE TYPES OF PRIORITY AREAS IN ALTERNATIVE CARE SETTINGS ARE DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS;

A. Cross-cutting areas: Alternative care changes to achieve improvement in these cross-cutting priority areas would involve most healthcare organizations and practitioners, could impact all types of conditions and could provide a means of dramatically improving health care for all patients.

B. Specific priority conditions

Chronic care: The majority of the specific priority conditions recommended are chronic conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease. The alternative effective interventions that can be applied to improve health outcomes, reduce disease burden, and prevent more serious health problems afterward in life.

Acute Care: Alternative care management focuses on preventing medication errors and the overprescribing of antibiotics, particularly for acute respiratory infections in children. This area provides an excellent opportunity for designing interventions that can enhance the use and capacity of management information systems.

Preventive Care: The preventive services among the domains of health care that should be represented by the priority areas. Selected priority areas represent a range of clinical preventive services involving immunization, screening, and counseling for lifestyle changes, which would singly and collectively reduce morbidity and mortality.

Palliative Care: One of the priority areas in the category of palliative care is frailty. Nearly everyone who survives past age 80 experiences a period of frailty involving decreased functional status as a result of multiple health problems, such as heart and lung disease, as well as cognitive deficits resulting from dementia or stroke. Alternative care plans should be put in place that is respectful of both the patient’s and family’s wishes.

C. Emerging areas: Obesity was intentionally placed as an emerging area. The prevalence of overweight and obesity has reached epidemic proportions. Obesity represents an important medical condition in its own right and contributes to morbidity and mortality for other diseases, including heart disease, type II diabetes, osteoarthritis, hypertension, and cancer. Addressing the growing rates of obesity and obesity-related disease in children and adults has been identified as an urgent alternative care priority by the nation.
