Answer :

Health of an individual is a complex subject influenced by a variety of factors which may lead to either may healthy outcome to promote health or an unhealthy outcome to have deleterious effect on health .

Determinents of health :

AGE : there is close relationship of diseased status with age ,while some diseases are common in childhood such as protein energy malnutrition is higher rate in children below 5 years of age .

Ex : some of the diseases such as hypertension and diabetes common in middle age and olders

GENDER : gender also have plays in disease status such as oral cancers are more in males and breast cancer ,cervical cancer is common in females .

Similarly inguinal hernias have gender predisposition toward males .

GENETICS : many diseases in human like chromosomal anomalies ,errors of metabolism ,mental retardation are known to be genetic origin.

RACE and ETHNCITY : members of non whites racial and ethnics groups tend to experience more ill health and diseases .

Ex : african people have prevalence of STDs more than whites .

LITERCY STATUS : literacy and educational status also have effect on health ,people who are uneducated they are poor awareness in health and may prone to get illness .

NUTRITION : who are taking undernutrition or lack of essential nutrients in their diet may prone for diseases such as malnutrition

Ex : malnutrition is high in under developed countries compared to developed countries such as U.S .

ENVIRONMENT : poor environmental sanitation leads to diseases such as diarrhea ,malaria and other communicable diseases .

Socio economic status : low income leads to diseases such as poor intake of nutritious diet ,and poor health seevices such as malnutrition and high income status also influence on health such as diabetes ,heart attack and HTN called as rich man diseases .

And these are common in developed countries

Socio cultural conditions :

Some of the cultural activities such as some of the cultural practices wont take meat and fish

Hindus wont take beef and muslims wont eat pork

Health care system : poor health care services lead to poor health of community

Ex : people in remote and tribal areas wont get proper health care services ,so they may get disease.
