Social, economic, and physical environmental factors along with a person's individual behaviour & characteristics impact the health status .They are the determinants of health .

According to The 2016 Coastal Bend 18 County Health Needs Assessment Steering Committee, The determinants of health which impact health disparities in Coastal bend texas are

• Limited access to healthcare services
• Improper usage of Emergency department services
• Poor physical health
• Poor practice of hygiene in some hospitals
• Lack of awareness about chronic health conditions like diabetes, hypertension,etc
• Lack of physical activity environment leading to obesity
• Stress and Mental health problems
• Health issues prevalent in women
• Physical environment pollution and other factors end up in respiratory problems to people

According to WHO ,Some health determinants are

Socioeconomic status - Earnings and social status are interlinked and has a great impact on health. A rich person gets more attention than a poor person

Education – Illiteracy impact health as the person donot know about preventive measures , they exhibit more stress ,low self-confidence,low self esteem

Physical environment – Safe water and clean air, healthy workplaces, safe houses, communities and roads all contribute to good health.When a person is illiterate ,he may not be able to attend his needs and fulfill his living. If a person is in his workplace an there are many problems along with environmental hazards he may not be healthy . He may have stress and tension, leading to insomnia which is the starting point for every health issue

Society &tradition – Adequate support from families, friends and communities always creates a str ess free environment towards better health. Any traditions and cultures their habits may have influences over health

Genetics - Inheritance of genes plays a part in determining lifespan, healthiness and the likelihood of developing certain illnesses. Personal behaviour and coping like eating balanced food, active , smoking habits, alcohol consumption, sleeping patterns affect health.

Health services - access and use of services that prevent and treat disease influences health

Gender - Men and women suffer from different types of diseases at different ages.
