Answer #1

here as we can see that Y=1000*X

therefore E(Y)=1000*E(X)=52.5*1000 =52500

and SD(Y)=SD(1000*X)=1000*SD(X) =1000*12.5=12500

-77. In 2002, a team of scientists from Russia and the United States reported the creation of the first atom of element 118, which is named oganesson, and whose symbol is Og. The synthesis involved the collision of californium-249 atoms with accelerated ions of an atom which we will denote X. In the synthesis, an oganesson-294 is formed together with three neutrons. 24.0f + x => 19 Og + 3 in 1991 (a) What are the identities of isotopes X?...

Let x represent the average annual salary of college and university professors (in thousands of dollars) in the United States. For all colleges and universities in the United States, the population variance of x is approximately σ2 = 47.1. However, a random sample of 20 colleges and universities in Kansas showed that x has a sample variance s2 = 86.8. Use a 5% level of significance to test the claim that the variance for colleges and universities in Kansas is...
