Post operational instructions after a mole removal:

Ideally, people should seek a physician if they notice a change in the appearance of their moles lesion. However, sometimes people might think that the changed lesion is harmless or benign and they should not be worried about it. Nurses then should intervene and advise these persons to start having a thorough self-skin assessment for melanoma. The patient has to seek medical help in case he or she notes a change in the following characteristics.

Wound care:

Color, particularly lesions that become darker or turn to tan, brown, red, black, or blue

Size, mainly any lesion that becomes larger or spreads out

Shape, especially lesions that protrude from the skin and have an irregular outline

A lesion that is crusting, bleeding, oozing, drainage, ulceration or scaliness

Any lesion that becomes softer or is easily irritated

Sensations including itchiness or pain

Diet: Drink plenty of fluids and there is no restriction on specific type of food or drink. No gum chewing and advance food slowly from liquids to soft, then solid foods.
