We can calculate R​​​​​​f value by using the following formula

R​​​​​​f = D​​​​​​s​​​​​/Df i.e R​f is the distance travelled by the compound divided by the distance travelled by the solvent.

Where, D​​​​​​s is the distance travelled by compound or solution.

D​​​​​​f is the distance travelled by solvent factor

Here D​​​​​​f = 11.8 and D​​​​​​s = 5.9

therefore, R​​​​​​f = 5.9/11.8

therefore R​​​​​​f = 0.5
