1. The use of Electronic health records helps in data flow in a hospital. Different software systems can be used based on its pros and cons. It will help in data flow and continuity of care. Building a software system can affect clinical practice in both positive and negative ways. Initially the staff may face challenges and have difficulty in using these softwares and may be opposing changes. But if the system is user friendly they may accommodate it. The advantages such as dialogue boxes ensure that data entry is completed. Sometimes it may not be necessary for all the patients but still the data entry need to be completed. This may be annoying for the clinical personnel.

2. The terminological system makes use of controlled clinical terminologies to concise the data input. These are converted to symbols and can be recognised and used later. This data is in computable form and is often reusable. The limit of electronic system is that different software systems can be used and the data limitation is based on the template. The software decides the data input. Even though controlled clinical terminologies are useful it does not give the richness of qualitative data in natural language.

3. Computerized clinical support systems helps practitioners to make decisions based on recommendations generated from systems based scientific information. The CDSS is useful but barriers in using it could be perception that it will reduce their professional autonomy, encroach in their clinical judgment and technical and usability problems.

4. It is easy to use and helps in streamlining of coding and billing process. It helps clinicians to complete data quickly and improves their productivity. It can also be used in different specializations. All these encourage adoption by provider.
