Suppose you are assigned two unknowns, Compound A and Compound B. One unknown is a fat, and the other is an oil. You dissolve a small amount of Compound A in cyclohexane. After you add 4 drops of a cyclohexane solution containing bromine, the reaction mixture retains the bromine color. When you add the bromine solution to Compound B, the bromine color remains after you add 1 drop of the test solution. Which substance, Compound A or Compound B, is more likely to be an oil? Explain concisely.

Oils are unsaturated and fat are saturated. Oil decolorize the bromine solution as bromine add on double bonds but fat doesn't.

Since, compound A doesn't decolorize bromine solution hence compound A is fat and compound B is oil.
