ANSWER : 2

Highlighted carbon atom forms one sigma bond with neighboring Carbon & one with neighboring Nitrogen atom.

Q.2 ) In how many pi bonds does the highlighted atom participate ?

ANSWER : 2

Highlighted Carbon atom forms two pi bonds with N atom.

Q.3 ) What is the orbital hybridization of the highlighted atom ?

ANSWER : SP

Consider excited state electronic configuration of Carbon atom.

6 C * 1 s 2 , 2 s 1 , 2 p x 1 , 2 p y 1 , 2 p z 1

2 s & 2 p orbital of Carbon atom undergoes SP hybridization and forms two SP hybrid orbitals. These orbitals are used for making two sigma bonds with Carbon & Nitrogen atom.

Rest two half filled atomic orbitals of C namely 2 p y and 2 p z makes two pi bond with half filled p orbitals of  N atom.
