Answer #1

Africa has scene the Epidemic of Ebola and many people have died from the Ebola and no new drug has been found yet to treat the new patients suffering from this disease.

When a drug is made, humans trials is the most important thing that is to be done.

Pro.view

  • When there are no drug present, a new drug that has potential to treat Ebola should be given a chance.
  • East Africa has the Epidemic of this disease and if the drug is successful over there then, it can be used in the rest of the world.
  • This is a very dangerous disease and it has to be stopped and for that drug has to be on the market.

Con view

  • Humans trials as mentioned is the most important thing and using the drug without conducting human trials is an ethical dilemma.
  • Lab animals and humans share almost 99% the same genetic composition but the 1% change is the main player and how that 1% behaves with the drug has to be researched by the human trials and without doing that is a lethal risk.
  • Another con is that Ebola virus might evolve from the drug before it is started in the market in the Epidemic area.
