The corpus luteum secretes progesterone thickening the endometrium of the uterus.

In females corpus luteum major role in maintaining pregnancy.Progesterone is a steroid hormone which is produced by corpus luteum which thickens the endometrium of the uterus.The thickening of the endometrium is done for the purpose of implantation of the fertilized egg.

The other options such as production of estrogen to widen fallopian tubes and to form secondary oocyte and progesterone increase for the better chances of fertilization is not the function of corpus luteum.
