Development of nursing diagnosis helps nurses perform independently .

Before advancement in this field, nurses were unable to plan nursing care according to patient's needs, and also level of cognition were not satisfactory.

With advancement in nursing diagnosis nurses are able to plan and implement then according to patient's requirements,

It provides nurses a platform and a base to use their nursing skills appropriately, making right diagnosis enable nurses to solve problems systematically and with priority. It helps nurses make the right diagnosis and plan according to priority of patient , for example ,if patient is complaining about shortness of breath , disturbed sleep pattern and pain so the diagnosis should not be made on infertility etc.

NANDA( NORTH AMERICAN NURSING DIAGNOSIS ASSOCIATION) diagnosis is an advancement in nursing diagnosis which plays a great role in setting priorities, planning of care , implementation ,evaluation.

Advancement in nursing taxonomy

It is the method of classifying specific topic in terms of vocabulary in a specific laws and principles.

Earlier , vocabulary that was used to describe patient condition by the nurses were different all over the world and there was no similarly among those words , it was working on local level but it created a challenge when there was a need to communicate internationally,

So ,advancement took place and taxonomy were created for nurses to use it world wide,

NANDA has developed taxonomy for nurse to avoid misunderstanding and also developed an independent method of making diagnosis by those taxonomies by the nurses, it enabled them organising nursing diagnosis in various categories,

Evidence based practice is important in terms of improving patient's condition, it helps in giving highly quality care to the patient, helps in reducing unnecessary cost that is not needed, and also it prevents from performing unnecessary practices and procedures that is not effective, it is based on the expertise and on the available clinical research that helps in making decisions.

Difference between grand theory and middle range theory

Grand nursing theory is wide and it's key concept and principles can be found and identified, it is a combination of concept', beliefs , connection and purposes from models of nursing and also from another other sources,

Middle range nursing theory is very precise and narrow , it has less scope that describes only phenomenon and intervention can be found out .
