I am making sterile 3.13% sodium citrate solution. I am mixing 3.13 grams of pure sodium citrate powder per 100 ml of water. My question is I need sterile human injectable 3.13% sodium citrate solution. What is best water to use ??? Distilled... or ChemWorld UltraPure Type 1 Deionized Water??? Or what is best water to use ??? Thank You so much !

Yes the quantity of the sodium citrate powder is correct as it should be 3.30 gm in 100 ml water. But to make sterile human injectable there is need of the deionized water as there is absence of the common interfering ions for further isotonicity. As the ions present in the distilled water may interfere eith the sodium ions and the citrate ions and rhus affect the isotonicity. Hence best is to use the deionized water.
