Question

I have posted this question here 4 times ... Which type of Sodium Citrate is best for human blood work and injection... Monobasic Sodium Citrate or Trisodium Sodium Citrate ???

I received 2 experts telling me Monobasic is best and 2 other experts telling me Trisodium is best... Do not know who to believe... Please !!! I need the correct answer !!! Please do not answer this if you have the slightest doubt which is correct.

Sodium citrate is the trisodium salt of citric acid..

Sodium Citrate is the sodium salt of citrate with alkaline activity. The citrate ion binds calcium ions in the blood by forming calcium citrate complexes, preventing the blood clotting mechanism. On absorption, sodium citrate dissociates into sodium cations and citrate anions, organic citrate ions are metabolized to bicarbonate ions, resulting in an increase in the plasma bicarbonate concentration, the buffering of excess hydrogen ion, the raising of blood PH. This addition, increases in free sodium load due to sodium citrate administration which may increase intravascular blood volume.

Calcium plays a critical role in the initiation of clotting. Citrate is used to bind calcium and prevent blood from clotting. Citrate is added to packed red blood cells to prevent clotting.

Looking to all the above conclusions, to my opinion, Trisodium Sodium Citrate is the best for human blood work.
