Aim of the study:  The association between the history of cardiovascular disease and the Lower back pain in the employees.

Evaluation:

Surveys and examination used to evaluate the association between the low back pain and heart disease. Employees with back pain of the last three months in the past year have been included in the evaluation program. The program was evaluated based on the Framingham Risk Score. The risk score of BP, total cholesterol, Smoking, diabetes, pain level was included in the evaluation program. The risk score is calculated using the algorithm method. Chronic low back pain and cardiovascular risk factors were compared and higher risk factors were compared with other groups. Gender and age were also considered in evaluating the risk factors. The findings show that there is a strong association between the low back pain and cardiovascular disease but the lower back pain is not associated with all major cardiovascular risk factors. Further studies and include of psychological factors is necessary for the confirmation of the relationship.
