Defining Intervention:

An intervention may include any educational program or strategies designed to produce improvement in health among individuals involved in the program.

Theory Considered:

Social Learning Theory- Social Learning Theory was introduced by Albert Bandura. According to this theory, people learn from one another, via modelling, imitation and observation. The theory illustrates the bridge existing between behaviourist and cognitive learning theories using factors such as attention, memory, and motivation.

  1. Specifically, explain and describe how your intervention will attempt to impact the construct of the theory in order to achieve your objectives and goals from the writing goals and objectives assignment.

In general: the goals and objectives of the health education intervention would be:

  • To study the concept of intervention in context with health education.
  • To identify the variables associated with health education intervention.
  • To analyze the impact of various learning aids on learners.
  • To estimate the effectiveness of the training program.
  • To provide a suggestion for betterment.

The above theory is considered because:

  • Every learning takes place either by observation, imitation or modelling or combination of any of these or by all of these.
  • Further, the effectiveness of the learning depends upon attention level and memory capacity as well as internal and external motivation. Since all the important constructs are considered by this theory, we are employing Social Learning theory.

Herein the Social Learning theory is capable of fulfilling every objective mentioned above, therefore this theory is employed.
