Steps to be followed to present this in excel:

  1. Make the exact tables and data in an excel worksheet.
  2. All the required data is to be filled or copied, and there is an option of BORDER in the HOME MENU.
  3. Using it, select all the cells you want to border, and then select ALL BORDERS in the drop-down menu of the BORDER ICON.
  4. this way, your tables are ready in excel.

Now, Calculation of labour amounts: (Steps)

  1. In the labour column of a specific part number, type "=".
  2. Then, using mouse/cursor, select the respective CELL of RATE/HOUR.
  3. You will see the coloured cell number of that cell will appear in front of the "="
  4. Then, type "/" (divide sign).
  5. Then, again select the respective CELL of PARTS/HOUR in the same row.
  6. Again, the coloured cell number of that cell will appear in front of the "/".
  7. Then, press enter.
  8. In this way, it will calculate the LABOUR AMOUNT for that respective row.
  9. Do that for every part number and supplier.

Follow, this procedure, for all the labour amounts. This way, you will get all the amounts of labour for suppliers A, B & C.

Now, for LINKING the labour amounts to the PIECE PRICE TABLE,

  1. Press "=" in the labour cell of a particular part number of a supplier.
  2. Now, refer to the tables you prepared earlier.
  3. In them, select the LABOUR CELL of the SAME part number, the labour of which you want to link. (Example: Supplier A - gpsc-68-1500, press "=" in the labour cell of upper table and then, select the labour cell of the same part number in the lower supplier A table.)
  4. You will observe that the cell number of the selected cell appearing in front of the "=".
  5. then, press ENTER.
  6. This way, the cells would be linked.
  7. Any changes made in the lower tables will automatically reflect in the upper tables.
  8. Do that for every supplier and part number.

At last, calculate the PIECE PRICE.

You must be knowing the formula of piece price.

  1. Press "=" in the piece price total cell of a specific part number.
  2. select a cell you want to add.
  3. this selection will be depicted as the cell number of the selected cell in front of "=".
  4. then, type "+".
  5. Again, select a cell you want to add.
  6. Again, this selection will be depicted as the cell number of the selected cell in front of "+".
  7. Now, there may be more than 2 items to add.
  8. We follow the same process: type "+" and select a cell (repeatedly until we are done.)
  9. This way, you will get the TOTAL PIECE PRICE of a specific part number.
  10. Do that for every part number.
