1) I will explain as follows.

Expectancy theory is a theory based on motivation. It says that a person is motivated by their expectations of what will happen if they do certain things and tend to be more productive when they think that their expectations will be realized. Say, for example, you are expecting that if you get good grades in the finals, then your father will take you to vacation. This expectation will motivate you to study more sincerely and get good grades. This is what expectancy theory is.
