Cost + markup = Sales price.

Cost Markup Sale price

Generally markup is based on cost. Hence 25% of cost = $85. then Cost is $85/25%= $340. Hence retail price or selling price is cost+markup=$340+$85= $425.

Q6)The suit cost the buyer $425.

Q7) The original retail price minus actual selling price = Markdown. In this case the initial retail price is $425.
