Bond Ratings:
Bonds ratings are given for bonds by the rating agencies. These ratings represent a particular bond's risk and return profile for the investors.
These ratings are denoted with AAA, AA, A, BBB, BB, B, CCC, CC, C and D which are further expanded with +/-. Rating are considered best to worst in the given order of AAA, AA, A, BBB, BB, B, CCC, CC, C and D, where as AAA is the best and D is the worst bond rating.
AAA rating represents the higher rated bonds with higher returns and lower risk. Going downward BBB is worst than AAA with lower return and higher risk, similarly CCC is further downgraded rating and D is the worst rating with lowers returns and highest risk profile bonds.
