What is the null hypothesis for this study?

A)There is no relationship between the number of hours spent exercising as a teenager and the number of hours someone in their 40s spends exercising.

B) A greater amount of time spent exercising as a teenager is likely to result in a greater amount of time exercising when someone is in their 40s.

Answer #1

Here as the problem entails that A researcher is doing a study on whether the number of hours teenagers spend exercising has any relationship to the number of hours they are exercising in their 40s.

so here there are two groups of people where one group belongs to teenagers and second one belongs to 40s person.

so here null hypothesis always decline what is claimed by the research. So in this case the null hypothesis is there is no relationship between the number of hours spent exercising as a teenager and the number of hours someone in their 40s spends exercising. Option A is correct.
