Answer #1

Answer

0.073444 mol aluminium

4.42 ×1022 ions of aluminium

0.22033 mol chloride

1.33 ×1023 ions of chloride

Explanation

Molarity = number of moles of solute per liter of solution

Number of moles of aluminium chloride = (0.122mol/1000ml)×602ml = 0.073444mol

Formula of aluminium chloride : AlCl3

one aluminium chloride contains one aluminium ion and three chloride ions

Therefore

Number of moles of aluminium ion = 0.073444mol

Number of moles of chloride ion = 3 × 0.073444mol = 0.22033mol

1mole = 6.022×1023ions

Number of aluminium ions = (6.022×1023ions/ 1mol)× 0.073444mol = 4.42× 1022 ions of aluminium

Number of chloride ions = (6.022×1023ions/1mol) × 0.22033mol = 1.33 × 1023 ions of chloride
