In the People vs. Nygren case, Billie Teresa Nygren had stabbed and killed her husband. The jury had convicted her of manslaughter (former AS 11.15.040). She was sentenced her to eight years' imprisonment, by the superior court with five years suspended. Affirmed on appeal was convicted and sentenced.
