6) 1. Dementia is an acquired syndrome consisting of a decline in memory and other cognitive functions. Dementia is used as an umbrella term to group all diseases in which there is some form of memory loss.

2. Multi-Infarct Dementia (MD) Vascular etiology for dementia, multiple areas of the brain are dead. Memory impairment and altered though process. A perfusion problem caused by atherosclerosis.
