Dementia is a not a specific Disease.Group of disease affecting your memory and daily routine can cause dementia. Memory loss generally causes dementia but that doesn't mean if you have memory loss you have dementia.

Alzheimer is one cause for progressive dementia in old age people.Depending on the causes some are reversible while others irreversible.There are two symptoms of dementia

1. Cognitive Changes:-Memory loss, difficulty to find words,routes,planning things,confusion and disorientation.

2. Psychological Chances :- Personality changes,Anxiety, depression etc.

Dementia can be caused when nerve cells are damaged or connection to some part is lost.Based on which part is affected problems can vary.In some cases proteins can get deposited due side effects of vitamins intake.Such cases dementia is reversible with treatment.

Dementia that are irreversible are Alzheimer's disease, Vascular Dementia,Leg body dementia, Frontotemporal dementia,Mixed dementia.

Disorders relates to dementia:-Hintingstons disease, Traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease.

Most commonly used medicines Cholinesterase inhibitors and memantine,galactamine, rivastigmine..

Patients must be educated for dementia .Set a positive mind for patients,get patients attention,set your message clearly, listen your ears, eyes, and heart,. Break activity into series of steps.

Cognitive test,brain imaging psychatric test can be done for diagnosis.
