Drugs for thyroid replacement drugs includes:
Dosage of Levothyroxine
For mild hypothyroidism- 1.7mcg/kg not to exceed 300 mcg/day
For severe hypothyroidism- 12.5- 25 mcg PO qDay
For subclinical hypothyroidism; 1mcg/kg PO qDay
The Adverse reactions are; Angina petoris, flushing, increase pulse rate, arrhythmias, cramps, diarrhoea, headache, insomnia, heat flushes, weight loss, alopecia.
INSTRUCTIONS: Take the tablet with full glass of water in empty stomach preferably 30 minutes to 1 hour before breakfast. Do not use soyabean products which may decrease the drug absorption.
