It does not address the doctor shortage problem. According to the reports by Forbes reported in 2016 even as there is the growth of specialists, there will be a shortage of about 94,700 doctors in the US by 2025. The aging population will be left uncared for.

The money for a single payer system needs to come from taxation, thus it will increase.

Long wait times for receiving the specialized services.

Reduced efforts to innovate within the health care industry, when everyone gets paid the same rate.
