Why are copper straps ( rather than iron straps or bent over nails used to hold household copper wire lines in place?
Copper wire straps are more resistant towards corrosion. The iron wire straps used in the household wires are exposed to oxidation readily. They readily form iron oxide. Hence, reducing its lifetime. The copper straps are thus, preferably used for better conductance, least resistance towards corrosion and more longivity.

Why are copper straps (rather than iron straps or bent over nails) used to hold household copper wire lines in place? when an iton post is immersed in water, rust forms at the water line and the iron post pits below the water line. Explain why this happpens. Why do aluminum pots and pans develop a pitted surface when taboe salt is added to the cooking water?

A roof plate of iron is held down with rifled steel nails. Over the roof blows sharp winds, at 60 m / s. If each nail can handle 0.5 kN of pull force, estimate how many nails are needed per square meter to hold the plate firm.
Copper(I) complexes tend to be tetrahedral rather than octahedral or square planar. Why is this the case? Explain your reasoning.
1. Copper and aluminum, rather than lead, shields are used to protect against beta particle radiation because: Lead does not absorb beta particles Beta particle beams are not energetic Copper and aluminum shields scatter beta particles, as well as absorb them. Copper and aluminum shields produce less Bremsstrahlung radiation
Why use zinc in the copper cycle reaction CuSO4 + Zn --> ZnSO4 + Cu rather than some other metal that would also precipitate copper?
Why must X-rays be used in crystal structure determinations rather than visible light? Why must the light used in crystal structure determinations be monochromatic? That is, what would happen to a peak in an XRD pattern if polychromatic rather than monochromatic light were used?
Why is bromophenol blue rather than phenolphthalein used as an indicator for the antacid titration?
