Ans) Review of System ( ROS):

- A review of systems, also called a systems enquiry or systems review, is a technique used by healthcare providers for eliciting a medical history from a patient. It is often structured as a component of an admission note covering the organ systems, with a focus upon the subjective symptoms perceived by the patient.

Normal vs abnormal response to DTR ( Deep Tendon Reflexes)

In a normal person, when a muscle tendon is tapped briskly, the muscle immediately contracts due to a two-neuron reflex arc involving the spinal or brainstem segment that innervates the muscle. By convention the deep tendon reflexes are graded as follows: 0 = no response; always abnormal.

Reasons why the musculoskeletal muscle shortens in the elderly older adult:

- Age-related factors that contribute to the development of OA include a decline in muscle strength, loss of proprioception, degenerative changes in the meniscus, osteoporosis – the bones lose mass and become brittle. Fractures are more likely.

Priority setting can be defined as the ordering of nursing problems using notions of urgency and/or importance, in order to establish a preferential order for nursing actions.

Focused vs problem centered data collection:

Concerns mainly on problem, one cue complex, or one body system. Mini database targeted for a short-term care in all hospital settings.
