Complimentary and alternative medicines are different techniques and remedies used to treat a disease that are not covered under standard medical practices. These therapies may be given along with the standard treatments or as alternative to the standard treatment.

The use of CAM is gradually increasing due to increased knowledge and awareness about such therapies. Many people are drifting towards CAM due to vast side effects of medicines abd surgucal procedures.

Yes I use complimentary medicines like massage for relaxation of body and mind and relieving stress and anxiety.

Advantages of CAM :

1. Reduce the use of medicines and surgical procedures. Thus reducing the side effects

2. Can be used as placebo

Disadvantages :

1. Lack scientific validation and efficacy

2. Cannot be tested in clinical trials

3. Sometimes causes severe drug interactions

4. When taken in large doses and without doctors consent can lead to severe adverse effects.
