The field of health sciences is wide and varied. Many jobs in the profession require additional training and certification. Others can be entered directly from the Bachelor's degree. Compile a list of possible health science fields that you might be interested in. You will need to do some research on the Internet. Don’t confine yourself to careers that you commonly hear about such as medical assistants, medical doctors, nurses, or pharmacists. Look deeper into fields that are new and cutting edge.

The health care sector is one of the world's biggest and fastest developing sectors consuming more than 12% of GDP of most developed countries. The healthcare field is having a fastest growth of expansion . These new emerging and fast-growing health care careers will take medical care into the next level.

1. Registered Health Information Specialist

A registered health information specialist (RHIT) is a certified professional who stores and verifies the accuracy and completeness of electronic health records. RHIT also analyses patient data with the goal of controlling health care costs and improving patient care. Commonly RHIT can find employment in locations such as hospitals, medical clinics, health maintenance organizations,public health agencies, home care agencies and nursing homes.

Careers in this profession requires an associates degree, PG certificate or bachelors degrees in health information technology with course work in computer science, maths,and science is recommended.

2. Medical and Health Service Managers

medical and health service managers also called health care executives in health care administrators, plan, direct and co ordinate medical and health services. They might manage an entire facility or specialize in managing a specific clinical area or department or manage medical practice for a group of physicians.

Qualifications required are Bachelors degree in health administration or related field. Masters degree in health administration or related field.

A career in health care management field is a good choice for those who want to work in a business or managerial capacity within a health care settings. Career options are vast and there is huge demand for educated health care service managers.

3. Claims Examiner

Claims examiner reviews insurance claims to verify that due process was followed in the investigation and reporting of claims . Claim examiner work in the insurance industry and responsible for processing insurance claims. Common duties listed on a claim processor are analysing insurance information, performing data entry, handling insurance claims, reimbursements and deciding whether a claim should be processed or denied.

qualifications required for claims examiner includes two year of college is usually the minimum requirement for employment as a junior claims examiner. Courses in law, business, maths, and economics are helpful.

4. Health Education Specialist

A certified Health Education specialist is a highly trained health educator with a bachelors degree. They work to implement health strategies and promote behavioural change within their communities through hospitals, health departments and Governments. A health education specialist teaches behaviours that promote wellness.

Qualifications include a bachelors degree or higher in health education, public health education or health promotion. Other requirements includes pass certified health education specialist exam.

5. Healthcare Navigators

health care navigators help patients and families navigate the health care process and layers of bureaucracy , including health insurance companies and Government agencies. Bachelors degree from an accredited institution is a desired qualification.

6. Medical Scribes

Medical Scribes are becoming increasing and common members of medical care teams as physicians become more and more bogged down with administrative tasks such as paper work and computer data entry. Medical Scribes gather information and documentation for physicians, working one-on -one with them. Many students who plan to go to medical school are becoming scribes and making decent salaries.

Medical scribes should have minimum of high school diploma. A college degree, or current enrollment in a degree program is prefered. Computer and typing skills are preferred. Experience with medical terminology is necessary.
