As a health care professional, some of the things that are important to keep in mind when working with families/individuals that are struggling with poverty and just trying to make ends meet is making the families aware of the different healthcare programs provided by the government such as Medicaid, a joint federal-state program, providing the health coverage or nursing home coverage to low-asset people, such as; children, pregnant women, parents of eligible children, people with disabilities and elderly in need of nursing home care; as this will improve access to healthcare.
