Fixed costs are those costs which are constant and they do not change due to change in the sales volume or sales units.

Below costs are not really fixed costs:

Direct Materials

Direct Labor

Supplies Expenses

Sales Commissions

Manufacturing costs which will change due to change in the sales volume or sales units

Selling and Commission Expenses which will change due to change in the sales volume or sales units etc.

These are the costs which are not really fixed costs and these costs are called Variable Costs which always change due to change in the sales volume.

Below costs are fixed costs:

Rent Expense

Salaries Expense

Depreciation Expense

Property Expense

Other expenses which do not change due to change in the sales volume or units etc.
