This article goes in depth and proves that not all health care professionals abide by the rules that are in place to protect patients from HAIs. The researcher findings would support my research paper by providing statistics on health care provider’s failure to comply by the rules that ensure the safety of patients.

HEALTH CARE ACQUIRED INFECTIONS (HAIs) :

Health care Acquires Infections (HAIs) is other wise known as "Nosocomial infections" where patients get infection from anywhere in the hospital settings. People who are having low immunity, old age people, children, pregnant mothers, working professionals, doctors, nurses are at high risk of affecting with infections. Also, the persons who are staying for a long time in the hospitals are also prone to affect with these infections.

MOST COMMON HAIs ARE AS FOLLOWS :

1. Urinary tract infections

2. Blood stream infections

3. Respiratory infections

4. Skin infections

5. Intravenous catheter site infections

6. Contagious diseases,

7. Surgical infections, etc......

If nosocomial infections are not treated at the initial stages it will leads to life threatening diseases, finally leads to death of a person. As per the statistics out of 100 admissions at least 5-7 HAIs has been identified through random sampling method.

REASONS FOR FAILURE OF CONTROLLING HAIs :

* Improper maintainance of aseptic techniques

* Poor health care practices

* Insufficient materials for disinfection of hospital

* Lack of material supply

* Negligent behaviour of staff

* Improper disposal of patient materials (catheters, urine bags, foleys catheters, drainage bags)

* Poor personal hygiene and immunity, etc...

The above said points are the reasons why HAIs is not getting in control and failing of health care services to patients.
