Answer: Nursing practice has evolved so much over the time. Earlier nurses were wind up in taking care of the patients. But at present, nurses also provides major therapy, treatments, counselling to the patients.

The major role in the nursing profession was played by the Florence Nightingale. She is the first Lady who introduced the methods of taking care. She took care of soldiers in the war. Although she belonged to a elite family, she took care of many people and encouraged other womens to involve in this profession. Clara Barton was the another lady who has contributed in the nursing profession. As during the war, she facilitates the medical equipments , supplies and first aid. Mary Eliza Mahoney co- founded the National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses in 1908.
