Answer #1

Thymus is aprimary lymphoid organ which are critical cells of the adaptive immune system, this thymus function in immunity is that the lymphocytes produced in the bone marrow migrate to the thymus and are processed and t- cells undergo development , differentitation and clonal expansion and thymus processed lymphocytes are responsible for cell mediated immunity etc.the severe form of the tcell deficiences involve the cognetial absence or immaturity of the thymus gland digeorge syndrome,in this the thymus gland may be affected and t-lymphocyte production may be impaired resulting in low t-lymphocytes number and frequent infections( it is seen during fetal development) so they have increased susceptibility to viral fungal and bacterial infecions.
