The main determinants of health are:-

- economic stability

- social and community context

- education

- health care

- environment

The role of these determinants in preventing the growth of both chronic and infectious disease are :-

- Education = education creates awareness about the different diseases and about its treatment and prevention options .

- Social and community context = helps to understand about the different cultural barriers people have in perspective of several disease conditions and what are the accepted ways of providing health care to them .

- Economic stability = people with good economic background or those who belong to middle or rich class gets the treatment done more than the ones who are poor because of affordability of health care.

- Health care = health care availability in every region helps the population to get the treatment services easily and that to at cheap affordable rates . Non affordable and non accessible health care services are not taken by the population and increases chances of disease.

- Environment is the place where we live , it needs to be safe and protective so that the people living there are healthy . Hence ,a safe infection free environment is also one of the factor that play a role in prevention of both chronic and infectious diseases.
