Answer #1

1. Jan 31 balance in subsidiary account = 11400 - 3900 -2100 = 5400

2. Jan 31 balance in control account = Opening balance + Total credit sales - Total collections - Returns

= 11400 + ( 9000+6500+8100) - ( 7700+2500+8700) - 2700

= 13400

3. Balances in subsidiary accounts:

Bixler Co = 3900 + 9000 - 7700 = 5200

Cuddyer Co = 2100+ 6500 -2500 -2700 = 3400

Freeze Co = (11400 - 3900-2100) + 8100- 8700 = 4800
