CO(g) + H2O(g) ==> CO2(g) + H2(g)

using standard enthalpies of formation

ΔHf(CO(g)) = −110.525 kJ/mol

ΔHf(H2O(g)) = −241.818 kJ/mol

ΔHf(CO2(g)) = −393.509 kJ/mol

ΔHf(H2(g)) = 0 kJ/mol

so

ΔHrxn = ( ΔHf(CO2(g)) + ΔHf(H2(g)) ) - ( ΔHf(CO(g)) + ΔHf(H2O(g)) )

=( −393.509 kJ/mol + 0) - (−110.525 kJ/mol + −241.818 kJ/mol)

= −41.166 kJ

so

ΔHrxn = −41.166 kJ
