Process Mapping: Students are required to research an existing health care organization of their choice. In your research you should identify a quality improvement (QI) initiative that will improve the way patient care is delivered at the facility. The QI can be the result of organizational need, accreditation standards, and/or regulatory requirements.

Instructions: Clearly state the specific QI objective. Provide a brief description articulating why the QI is important and how the quality of patient care will be improved as a result of the QI. In addition, identify an executive, team lead, and staff member as the stakeholders who are responsible for the implementation of the QI and explain what roles they play in the implementation of the objective. It will be necessary to generate a flow chart that specifically emphasizes the steps necessary for implementing the QI as well as the position that is most appropriate for performing the tasks and exact duties of the step.

Quality improvement initiative identified is medical handwashing procedure among all medical and non - medical health professional who are 24× 7 in forefront to take care of patient.

The QI is important as it prevent nosocomical infection and cross contamination and the risk of infection in patient get decreased drastically.

An Infection control Nurse should be identified as executive to lead the team and she will be part of and act as liason between Quality assurance department and nursing department and non-medical team. The collaborate work of all these department help to initiate the plan of Quality initiative.

*Weekly random rounds to inspect the different departments.

*Weekly CNE class to stress the hand washing procedure.

* maintain a graphical data of improvement in quality of handwashing technique before and after handling patient and patient articles.

* conduct research and publish articles on study related to improvement in care in concern with improved hand hygiene practice among medical and non- medical staff etc.
