electrosurgery ;-this is a process in whch high frequency electrical current is used by passing it through the tissue mainly for the purpose of cutting and coagulation

RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH ELECTROSURGERY :-

• burn :- as high voltage electrod are used in case of electrosurgery then they may cause burn to the patient from mild to sever 3rd degree burn can also occur skin of the client should be completely cleaned and a conductive gel is used
• interaction with other electrical device or the matel device:- the interactionof the patient should be prevented with any other electrical device and if the patient has any kind of arteficial impant in his body then the return electrods should be placed on the opposite side of the implant
• harm to the sirgery team by the smoke created by electricla surgery :- as it contain many kind of chemicaals that are harmful to the patient and the surgical team
• excessive use of combustable gases like nitrous oxide and oxygen may cause explosive risk in the ot
• Pacemakers uses with it in some patients it may lead to asystole
• transmission of infection by uncleaned instruments use may occur it may either be a bacteria or avirus
