Ans) 24) a. Cefepime available is 1 gm

Order: Cefepime 500 mg

Dilute it with 2.4 ml gives is 3.6 ml, a concentartcon of 280 mg/ml.

280 mg = 1 ml

500 mg = x

x = 500/280 = 1.78 ml ~ 1.8 ml

b. 2 cc syringe can be used.

c. As each dose of cefepime is 500 mg for which 1.8 ml dose is administered IM.

Total diluted dose in vial is 3.6 ml.

So left back is 1.8 ml so each vial contains 2 doses.

d. Label should contain:

- Date & Time

- Patient's barcode

- Total dose= 3.6 ml

- Left dose in vial= 1.8 ml
