Answer #1

i)

use:

pH = -log [H3O+]

= -log (1.42*10^-7)

= 6.8477

ii)

use:

PH = 14 - pOH

= 14 - 7.55

= 6.45

iii)

pH = 5.89

iv)

use:

pOH = -log [OH-]

= -log (2.2*10^-9)

= 8.6576

use:

PH = 14 - pOH

= 14 - 8.6576

= 5.3424

The one with lowest pH is most acidic.
