Q. No 1. Answer : Surveillance system : it is one of the ongoing and systematic process, in these systematic collection, analysis, interpretation of data and dissemination of data and it is responsible for preventing and controlling of injuries and diseases.

It is called as public health surveillance system.

It is also known as epidemiological surveillance, syndromic surveillance, or clinical surveillance.

Mainly there are two types surveillance those are

1. Active surveillance

2. Passive surveillance

Active surveillance is defined as it is active desease surveillance based on public health and it is done daily, weekly, monthly by contacting physicians, hospitals, laboratories, schools, and searching cases.

Passive surveillance means receiving the reports from, physicians, lab technicians, and health care professionals, passively.

These are the two types of surveillance systems in public and medical community.

Health literacy means it is an individual ability to read, understand, and utilise the information in order to get adequate health care .

Issues that affects the health literacy :

* Lack of educational skills .

* language problems ,

* cultural problems,

* lack of access resources,

* age factors

These are all affect the health literacy.

Consumer health Informatics are acts like bridge in between health resources and patient.

These are helpful to examine the patient information such as health literally level , knowledge and education, and these consumers health Informatics plays important role providing information to patients regarding and promotion of self care and decision making capacity and improving healthy behaviours of people.
